A Nigerian man posted a video online that displays the massive amount of gifts that a woman and her family presented their fiancé.
The bride-to-be gave the groom a new car, bags, a freezer, a gas stove, pans, and several other home items.
The person making the clip could be heard expressing shock at what the groom got from his wife’s family.
He said that Onitsha, Anambra state, was the location of the traditional payment rite.
He said in Igbo that the family one marries into must be wealthy, but that if someone chooses to wed into a chaotic household, they will be responsible for their own actions.
