Mercy Aigbe Claps Back At Critics, Defends Her Marriage Choices

  • Mercy Aigbe Adeoti, defends her marriage to Kazim Adeoti against negative opinions.
  • She believes criticism stems from people who may not have their own lives in order.
  • Aigbe addressed rumors about influencing her husband, who has four children, during her appearance on the talk show Iriri Mi.
  • Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has dismissed negative opinions about her marriage to movie marketer Kazim Adeoti, asserting that such remarks come from individuals who may not have their own lives in order.

During an appearance on Iriri Mi, a talk show hosted by Bimpe Akintunde, Aigbe addressed claims that she had influenced her husband, who is a father of four.

Responding to accusations of controlling her spouse, the seasoned actress questioned why people were so concerned about her relationship.

“That’s just noise. Look at the people talking—how is their own life? People only discuss you when you’re doing well. If you’re not relevant, you won’t be a topic of conversation. You have to be at the top to be discussed,” she remarked.

Aigbe also shared that her decision to remarry was met with resistance from some family members, especially because of her age. However, she stood by her choice, emphasizing that she knew what was best for her.

“I truly believe in love. Some of my relatives even questioned why I would consider marriage again at almost 50. But everyone knows what they want in life. I saw something valuable, and I made my decision. I love having a partner, a crown on my head, and being married. Maybe if I had stayed in my previous relationship, I wouldn’t be as recognized as Mercy Aigbe today,” she added.
