Actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe expressed her gratitude to her fans and colleagues for their support after her house was damaged by a fire.

On December 4, she shared the news on Instagram, including a video showing the extent of the damage.

She captioned it, “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well.”

The post received a lot of support from industry friends like Iyabo Ojo, Adeniyi Johnson, Faithia Williams, Blessing Obasi, Uzee Usman, Toyin Abraham, and Odunlade Adekola, who sent prayers and encouraging words.

However, some internet users criticized the actress, suggesting it was karma and making other negative comments.

In an update on Thursday, Mercy Aigbe chose to overlook the negativity and thanked everyone for their messages, prayers, and offers of assistance, sharing that her phone was flooded with calls and texts. She felt the love she received was truly overwhelming. The mother of two wrote;

“I feel so blessed, surrounded with so much love! People asking for my account details, my phone buzzing non-stop, prayers, comments, posts—omg, I am so so overwhelmed with all the love shown me especially at this time.”

Mercy expressed her gratitude to all who contacted her, hoping that God keeps them and their families safe from danger. She added:

“Big thank you to everyone who reached out, thank you for your calls, prayers, words of encouragement, support, DMs—it means a lot to me.

“My heart is filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation. Eseun Modupe!!!! God will continue to come through for each and every one of you, keep y’all and your household from evil, and multiply you in measures you can’t imagine. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.”

Actress Kemi Afolabi recently reached out to social media users who were criticizing her friend, Mercy Aigbe, after her property was damaged by fire.

In an emotional live video on Instagram, Kemi struggled to hold back tears as she asked for support for Mercy during this tough time.

She urged people to be gentle with their words, reminding everyone that even the strongest individuals have their limits.
