Mercy Chinwo delivers powerful worship songs during the funeral service of Herbert Wigwe, wife, and son

Mercy Chinwo, a renowned Nigerian gospel singer, recently sang a soul-stirring tunes on stage, bringing spiritual solace at the burial service for the distinguished Herbert Wigwe and his beloved family.

Distinguished dignitaries, guests, and a large crowd gathered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, in Rivers State’s Ikwerre Local Government Area, to pay their respects at the funeral service for the late Dr Herbert Wigwe, former CEO of Access Bank Plc, along with his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy.

Among the respected musicians scheduled for the occasion, Mercy Chinwo stood out with an electric performance that not only enthralled the crowd but also sparked a viral phenomenon.

Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the late former CEO of Access Holdings, along with his wife, Doreen Chizoba, and first son, Chizzy, have been laid to rest in a private tomb within Wigwe University, a testament to his legacy, located in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Following a burial ceremony at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Isiokpo, the remains were taken to the private mausoleum and laid to rest at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Among those in attendance at the service were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, business magnate Aliko Dangote, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, Governor Alex Otti, Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Babajide Sawno-Olu, former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, and various other distinguished leaders in industry.

At the graveside, emotions overflowed as tears freely streamed down the cheeks of mourners witnessing the solemn moment when the bodies were tenderly lowered into the earth.

Wigwe, along with his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash near the Nevada border in California, United States of America.

Also aboard the ill-fated helicopter was Abimbola Ogunbanjo, Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.
