Popular gospel singer Mercy ChiVeryDarkman Supports Pastor Damina’s Criticism Of Gospel Singers Charging High Price Like Secular Artistsnwo has taken legal action against controversial social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) over alleged defamatory statements.
The lawsuit stems from claims made by VDM last month, where he accused Chinwo of withholding earnings from performances and failing to honor her contractual obligations to her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, led by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu (EeZee Tee).
In a legal document dated March 3, 2025, drafted by her lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi, Chinwo described VDM’s statements as “libelous, malicious, spiteful, malevolent, and grossly defamatory.”
Her legal team argued that VDM had no direct involvement in the dispute between her and her former label but still made reckless and damaging claims that painted her in a negative light.
Chinwo’s Demands in the Lawsuit:
- N1 billion in general damages
- N100 million in punitive and aggravated damages
- N25 million to cover legal expenses
- A public apology and retraction of the alleged defamatory posts
- Deletion of all defamatory content from VDM’s social media
- Publication of retractions in four national newspapers for 14 consecutive days
With this lawsuit, Mercy Chinwo is making it clear that she will not tolerate any false narratives that tarnish her reputation.
