Nigerian actress Mercy Johnson Okojie is facing accusations of leveraging her celebrity status to sway people to vote for the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).
This controversy arose after she was spotted at a political rally supporting APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in Edo state.
In a widely shared video, the mother of four urged women to discuss voting for Senator Monday with their families.
In the large crowd at Ward 6 Irruekpen, Esan West LGA, Mercy spoke with great enthusiasm.
Some online users, however, believe she shouldn’t complain like her fellow actress Toyin Abraham if Monday Okpebholo doesn’t do well as Governor of Edo State.
