On December 4th, 2023, the 12th edition of the annual Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) Forum will take place, bringing together policy leaders and experts from the oil and gas industry, hosted by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the minister of state for petroleum resources (oil), and Hon. Ekperikpo Ekpo, the minister of gas, will be leading other prominent figures in the oil and gas sector to Yenagoa for one of the largest events on the industry’s calendar.

It is anticipated that the ministers will give ministerial remarks and demonstrate the federal government’s views on investment initiatives and Nigerian content.

This year’s PNC will begin with an invitational golf tournament and welcome dinner, marking the first of three gala nights that will be supported by Coleman Wires and Cables, the Bayelsa State Government, and Nigeria LNG Ltd. The PNC is hosted by the NCDMB in collaboration with DMG Events and the Bayelsa State Government. On Thursday, December 7, 2023, delegates will visit the MG VOWGAS facility in Port Harcourt, River State, to conclude the event.

The event’s host and Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote, will give the opening keynote address at the PNC. Other notable figures in the industry will also be featured prominently during the four-day event, including the Chief Executives of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Authority (NMDPA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Gbenga Komolafe and Farouk Ahmed. As he has every year before, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, is also anticipated to grace the PNC.

Big international oil companies (IOCs), Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) members, and service providers would be actively involved in the four-day conference. Their CEOs would serve in one or more of these roles, primarily as panel moderators or panellists or as presenters of papers on important topics related to the use of local content in the oil and gas industry.

“Providing an Encouraging Environment for Investment in the Energy Sector,” “Opportunities in Decarbonization and Domestic Gas Utilization,” “Deepening Nigerian Content in the Manufacturing Sector,” “Financing a Thriving Midstream Sector for Socioeconomic Development,” and “Sustainable Framework for Human Capacity Development” are the main topics of discussion for the panel sessions in the 2023 edition. Additionally anticipated are presentations on R&D success stories.

Along with the large exhibition, the PNC Forum provides an interactive forum for fund managers, key industry operators and service providers, chief executives of regulatory agencies, and important Federal Government officials overseeing the oil and gas sector.
