Mobs reportedly set a suspected kidnapper ablaze in Alihame, Agbor Delta state

  • A mob has set a suspected kidnapper on fire in Alihame, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
  • Nine suspected kidnappers were apprehended by Alihame Vigilante Group on February 24, 2024, at an uncompleted building in Agbor-Obi, following a distress call from a local resident.
  • The AVG promptly alerted policemen to an incident at Board Road, Alihame, which attracted residents from various community areas.

At Alihame, Agbor in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, a crowd has set a suspected kidnapper on fire.

According to reports, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at an incomplete structure near Oriri axis, Agbor-Obi, nine alleged kidnappers were apprehended by Alihame Vigilante Group in response to a distress call made by a resident in the area.

Residents from all parts of the community were drawn to the tragedy after it reached Board Road, Alihame. Police were notified right away by the AVG.

As the police drove them to the station, one of them was grabbed by the mob and pulled from the police vehicle.

The alleged kidnapper stumbled and struck his head on the tarred road.

As blood gushed out of his head, the mob descended on him and set him ablaze before the AVG and policemen could realize what was happening.

In the meantime, the accused kidnappers had six weapons, ammo, daggers, handsets, and various sizes of clothing retrieved from them.

The suspects  and exhibits were hand over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
