Nigerian Police have arrested prominent Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, in connection with the death of his former signee Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
This comes only days after Naira Marley’s bestie and Lagos socialite Sam Larry was detained at the Lagos airport upon his return to Nigeria on suspicion of being involved in Mohbad’s death.
Naira Marley, who claimed he had no involvement in Mohbad’s killing, took to his verified page on the X platform a few hours ago to inform the police that he had returned to Lagos, Nigeria.
He wrote; “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.”
Confirming this, Nigerian police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin via his page on the X platform utters that Naira Marley has been arrested and taken into custody for interrogation.
The post reads; “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities…”
