The legal representatives of the family of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, have raised concerns regarding the dissemination of sensitive information related to the circumstances of his death to the public.
Taiwo Odumosu, a leading member of the legal team, stated in a release obtained by Punch Metro on Sunday that such information should be directed to the police rather than being made public.
He further urged individuals with pertinent information that could assist in the investigation of the singer’s death to come forward.
“Given the nature of the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), and the information being released to the public space which ordinarily should have been given to the police, the Legal Team to the Aloba Family wishes to advise that anyone with useful and relevant information that could aid in the search for and the circumstances leading to the death of the singer should reach out to the Legal Team to facilitate proper legal connectivity. The police can also be contacted to ensure the safety and protection of witnesses and suspects,” the statement partly read.
Odumosu also mentioned that the coroner’s inquest had issued summons for witnesses, emphasizing the family’s need for assistance in uncovering the facts that led to Mohbad’s tragic passing.
“Please, note that Joseph Aloba does not seek to pursue any personal or familiar relationships at this point. His whole interest is focused on getting to the bottom and finding out details as to what happened to his dear son and the circumstances that led to his untimely demise.
Mohbad passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, with the circumstances surrounding his death igniting significant controversy on social media.
