The late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, is making headlines again. A recent report shows that his family has completed a private autopsy and toxicology test to find out what caused his death.
Mohbad died in 2023, and his passing sparked protests both online and in person, with fans and Nigerians demanding justice.
Controversies followed his death, leading to family disagreements. His father, Joseph Aloba, has been asking for a DNA test for his son Liam, who is with his widow, Wunmi.
Following Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley, his former label boss at Marlian Music, and his friend Sam Larry were arrested but were released later.
The issues surrounding the late singer’s death remain unresolved.
According to PUNCH Metro, the autopsy report to determine the cause of Mohbad’s death has been completed since December.
The reports indicated that a Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, approved the singer’s family to perform an independent autopsy and toxicology test in June 2024.
The family sought this independent examination because they found the circumstances of his death suspicious.
The court made its decision based on a prior autopsy done by the Lagos State Government, which the family deemed inconclusive and rejected.
