The eight-day Fidau prayer for the late Alhaja Halimot Anifowoshe, mother of famous Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, known as K1 De Ultimate, took an unexpected turn when a heated argument broke out between the artist and the Alfas present.
The conflict started after a video was shared online, showing KWAM 1 reportedly using offensive words to criticize the actions of the Alfas during the Fidau event.
The comments were seen as very disrespectful by many, especially those in the Islamic clergy. This caused anger among the Alfas, who felt hurt by the musician’s words.
To help ease the growing frustration among the clerics, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, stepped in during the continuation of the program.
Sheikh Onikijipa spoke with confidence and diplomacy, urging KWAM 1 to apologize to the Alfas. He presented this request as a humble act aimed at bringing peace and unity to the event.
However, KWAM 1’s reply only intensified the situation. Grabbing the microphone with his usual flair, the Fuji star stated in a viral video that he had done nothing wrong and saw no reason to apologize.
He thought that apologizing would mean he accepted blame, which he completely refused, claiming he was innocent in the situation.

The fallout from the incident was fast and split opinions. KWAM 1 faced backlash for what some viewed as arrogance and disrespect towards the Alfas, with accusations that his pride took away from the event’s significance.
The Alfas also faced scrutiny, as some questioned why they stayed at the event if they were truly offended.
