The family and friends of the late John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with burial expenses.
Mr Ibu’s burial is set to take place shortly.
He died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos, following a lengthy fight with a disease that necessitated many surgeries, including leg amputation.
To commemorate his memory and celebrate his life, the central planning committee, made up of family and friends, is preparing a funeral and requesting public donations to pay the costs.
The group noted that Mr Ibu’s medical expenditures were substantial, and they are requesting the public to help this cause and bid him a proper farewell.
The funeral will feature a novelty match, a candlelight parade, and a wake.
