Mr Macaroni blows hot following Sen. Natasha’s suspension

  • Mr Macaroni, a renowned content creator, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, citing a lack of countrywide accountability.
    • In a March 7, 2025 post on X, he argued that powerless individuals lack real consequences, leading to the perpetuation of impunity.

Prominent content creator Mr. Macaroni has expressed his views regarding the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, highlighting the pervasive lack of accountability within the nation.

In a post on X dated March 7, 2025, he remarked that individuals in positions of power face little to no repercussions for their actions, which fosters an environment of impunity.

“It’s not as if these countries that we call ‘Saner climes’ are not corrupt oo. The difference between these countries and Nigeria is the sense of accountability at the very least. In Nigeria, there is no regard for law and order.”

He further criticized the misuse of authority across various sectors, underscoring how wealth and influence often protect individuals from facing justice.

“From the impunity in the Senate to the shamelessness and abuse of power by security agents, to the total lack of regard for the Nigerian people, everyone is free to act as irresponsibly as they wish so far they have power or money. The real problem we have is the zero consequence for actions.

The rot in this country will continue to eat deep because no matter the gravity of the offence you commit or the amount of Nigerian lives that are at risk because of the reckless behaviour of a few, money, power and influence will wash the guilty as white as snow.”

His remarks follow the controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension from the Senate, which occurred after she made allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

This decision has ignited significant debate, with many questioning the fairness of the proceedings, the broader implications for women in politics, and the overall safety of women.

It was also suggested that Senator Natasha be prohibited from accessing the National Assembly’s premises, along with the termination of her salary and that of her legislative aides. Furthermore, Senator Natasha will be barred from any official representation of the nation until her suspension is fully resolved.

Senator Imasuen noted that the Senate might reconsider Senator Natasha’s suspension should she submit a written apology. Nevertheless, Senate President Godswill Akpabio confirmed the continuation of Senator Natasha’s suspension after a voice vote.
