Nigerian music stars consistently secure international nominations with ease. The MTV Europe Music Awards nomination list was announced on Tuesday, October 8. While many women dominated the list, several male Nigerian artists also made the cut.
Temilade ‘Tems’ Openiyi, Oyinkansola ‘Ayra Starr’ Aderibigbe, Ololade ‘Asake’ Ahmed, Divine ‘Rema’ Ikubor, and Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu received nominations in the Best Afrobeats category.
Fans of these artists are excitedly preparing for the award ceremony on November 9, 2024, at 9 p.m., which will be streamed live.

The MTV Europe Music Awards are given by Paramount International Networks to celebrate artists and music in pop culture. They were created as a different option to the MTV Video Music Awards, which take place every year in the United States.
