Murdered Top Chef: Police Arrest Five Suspects

The police has arrested five persons linked to the murder of the Abuja celebrity chef, Vincent Emeka Eloagu.

On August 1, Eloagu’s body was discovered in his Katampe extension home in Abuja. His wife had returned home from a church function to discover his lifeless body.

Reports yet to be ascertained suggest that Eloagu was stripped naked, tied up and strangled to death by unknown persons after they gained entry into his apartment.

So far, five people have been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide Unit, where an investigation is ongoing.

The development of the case was confirmed by Mariam Yusuff, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer.

Prior to his death, the 35-year-old was a well-known Abuja chef. He earned a Grande Diplomé in culinary and patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu Paris.

He developed a restaurant in the capital city that combines French cooking skills with Nigerian food, and he is recognized for hosting celebrities and politicians.

Friends and Associates to Emeka confirmed to NewsWireNGR,

“Emeka was killed last night, we do not know how and why but we are all in shock”, said the source who does not want his name in print.

“What will anyone have against Emeka? He was the most beautiful human in and out”. “We will wait for the family to issue a formal statement, but at this point, we are still devastated by the news about his demise”. The source said.

Another account says,

“Emeka was murdered last night in his house by suspected persons known to him as he had allowed the persons into the house, they left him tied up and naked in his apartment – the source continued, “two men had gained access to the Premises – they strangled him”.
