Nigerian actor and filmmaker Muyiwa Ademola celebrated his birthday by revealing a remake of his famous film, Ori.
On January 26, he shared the news on Instagram, announcing the new project called Ori: The Rebirth, along with a clip showcasing highlights from the film.
Muyiwa Ademola asked his fans to celebrate his special day by sharing the clip and supporting the movie, which will be released in theaters on May 1, 2025. He wrote:
“Happy Birthday to me 🥂🍾.
“Ori has moved from being just a film to something hugely phenomenal. 22 years after the film was made, a day would never pass without me meeting someone who would ask me to remake this film.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Ori: The Rebirth is ready! Hitting cinemas from May 1, 2025! The world must see Ori: The Rebirth. Please, journey with me again, guys. This is all I request from you for my birthday. Happy Birthday to me once again 🎁❤️🎁.”

The new version, created by Muyiwa Ademola who wrote, produced, and directed it, includes input from well-known filmmakers Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami.
Filmone Entertainment is in charge of distribution. Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, and Odunlade Adekola, along with fans, celebrated the actor and his announcement.
The original Ori, which came out in 2004, is a highly praised Yoruba film that focuses on destiny, perseverance, and self-discovery.
It features actors like Lere Paimo, Sola Sobowale, Peju Ogunmola, Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, and Fausat Balogun.
