Mr Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma Ejikeme, the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidate who falsified her result, has publicly expressed his apology to Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Nigerians.
According to a video interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), he claims his daughter lied to him initially; now that he knows the truth, he wishes that JAMB could pardon his daughter.

Mmesoma Ejikeme’s Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) score was a hot topic for days as Nigerians were split between those who backed her and those who thought she cheated to get the score.
The same girl had previously received a scholarship from notable Nigerians like Innoson Vehicle after she allegedly won the 2023 JAMB competition with a score of at least 360.
As inconsistencies in the specifics of her result emerged, JAMB declared that the result she had been flaunting was fraudulent.

In other news, Osita Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation and owner of the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centre where Mmesoma Ejikeme sat for her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) called on the candidate to explain the source of her result.
Chidoka said he would plead with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for leniency if Mmesoma came clean with her result source.
