A Nigerian soldier who is finally meeting his family after a year-long assignment to Maiduguri, Borno state, has expressed bitterness at his inability to pay the N35k transit ticket.
In a video circulating online, the devastated soldier said that he was offered a holiday after spending a year in the Maiduguri Forest.
When he arrived to the park, he was informed that the transportation fee for the return travel was N35K, which he cannot pay.
After a quick mental calculation, he determined that the round-trip transportation cost would be N70K.
Despite earning just N50,000 per month, the soldier opted to return to the jungle in Maiduguri owing to the high transportation costs.
