“My Mother And Orlando Owoh Are Related”- Rapper Vector Reveals

    Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun David, known as Vector Tha Viper, has shared that his mother is related to the famous musician Stephen Oladipupo Olaore Owomoyela, also called Orlando Owoh.

    He made this revelation in response to a popular tweet inviting people to talk about their family history or ancestors.

    “Tell us something great about your family history or ancestors,” an X user, @Yorubaness, solicited.

    Hoping on the trend like other tweeps, Vector shared, “My mum and Orlando Owoh are related.”

    His announcement thrilled many people, and some fans encouraged him to explore the music of the late music legend.

    Orlando Owoh was a Nigerian highlife musician who began his musical career as a drummer with the Kola Ogunmola Theatre Group in 1958. In 1960, he founded his own band, Dr. Orlando Owoh and His Omimah Band. Over a musical career spanning forty years, he became one of the leading proponents of highlife music.

    Owoh later established two other bands, Young Kenneries and the African Kenneries International. He released over 45 albums throughout his career. Orlando Owoh passed away on November 4, 2008, and was laid to rest at his residence in Agege, Lagos.
