"My very warm friendship" - Charly Boy recounts his close bond with late Sound Sultan

Nigerian artist Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, recently reminisced about his close friendship with the late Sound Sultan.

He took to Instagram to share how special their bond was, describing Sound Sultan as a genuinely warm friend.

Charly Boy wrote:

“I remember my very warm friendship with one of the greats, Sound Sultan. RIP.”

A comment read, “RIP Mr. Sound Sultan, really love 💖 you that year, when I and Captain ADEBAYO DOSUNMU came to your house, continue to rest in Peace brother. May God Almighty keep your children and wife safe.”

Sound Sultan bravely battled angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, before passing away at the age of 44. His death shocked many Nigerians, and he was laid to rest on July 11, 2021, at the Marlboro Muslim cemetery in New Jersey, following Islamic traditions.

In other news, Davido, the well-known afrobeat star, has responded to the criticism he faced after making a comment about his logistics manager, Israel DMW, and his failed marriage.

According to Gistlover.com, in a viral video while boarding his new private jet, Davido took a jab at Israel’s ex-wife, Sheila, saying she’s probably regretting her choices now.

This didn’t sit well with many, including fellow celebrities who called him out for his lack of empathy. Music producer Samklef even slammed him for his comments.

In response to the backlash, Davido shrugged it off, saying that people are just mad for no reason and they’ll still be tuning in to see what he’s up to.

He even posted on his official X, saying, If dem like make dem hate us, dem go still view our status. @jerry_shafferr,”
