“Negligence, lack of value for life are responsible for the collapse of the school building in Jos” – Simi says

Popular singer Simisola Kosoko, also known as Simi, has strongly condemned the unfortunate collapse of a secondary school building in Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.

It was earlier reported that over 22 students died and 132 others were injured in the tragic collapse of the school building in Jos, Plateau State’s capital, on Friday.

The Saints Academy secondary school collapsed while pupils were completing their third-term exams.

Simi took to her X handle to deliver a blistering criticism, blaming the core reasons of this tragic occurrence on Nigeria’s pervasive negligence and blatant disregard for human life.

She vented her rage and anguish, remarking that the senseless things that people die over in Nigeria are completely frustrating and infuriating.

Simi’s passionate outburst did not end there; she demanded accountability and systemic change, demanding authorities to wake up and prioritize citizens safety and well-being.

The singer penned: “All those babies just gone like that because of people’s negligence. The worst thing about Nigeria is the lack of value for life. The things people die for are so maddening.”

The Plateau State Government has revealed that 22 people died and 132 were injured in the collapse of a school building in Jos.

Mr. Musa Ashoms, the Commissioner of Information, stated that six of the injured are in critical condition.

Ashoms, who arrived at the scene with other officials, including the Commissioner for Secondary Education, stated that the school had a total population of about 400 students. He stated that approximately 200 pupils were present in the collapsed part of the building.
