Netflix has announced the continuation of Squid Game, saying that the second season will air on Boxing Day (December 26th).
The future of Netflix’s hit show Squid Game has been confirmed, with a first peek at the following series.
Originally a surprise hit in 2021, the show attracted global fans and became the platform’s most popular series.
Along with the announcement, a brief trailer was published, depicting an Olympic-style theme in which Squid Game competitors race for survival.
The trailer depicts the mystery character Front Man, Lee Byung-hun, overseeing the commotion while accompanied by his pink-suited henchmen.
He asks, “It’s been three years. “Do you want to play again?”
A third series has been commissioned, however it will be the last. The success of the show prompted the creation of the reality show Squid Game: The Challenge.
Lee Jung-jae, who played Seong Gi-hun in the first season, recently teased the second season in an interview with RadioTimes, saying, “I think the script for season 2 is even more interesting than season 1, and there will be a new set of characters as well.
“One thing I felt when reading the script is that there’s an even deeper emotion uncovered in season two, and I also think the audience is going to feel like, ‘Where is this story going?’ Because there are so many twists and turns that happen.”
The second season of Squid Game will premiere on Boxing Day, while the first season is presently accessible on Netflix.
