American rapper and billionaire Kanye West, or Ye, has created a buzz on social media by revealing that he was offered $2 million to promote a cryptocurrency scam.

The rapper recently made headlines for stopping traffic for his wife’s photoshoot and explained that the scam included posting a fake promotion and then claiming his account had been hacked.

According to Kanye West, the scam would have made him push fraud to his millions of fans, then claim his account was hacked afterward. At that stage, those who were misled might have lost their money.

“I was proposed 2 million dollars to scam my community. Those left of it. I said no and stopped working with their person who proposed it,” Kanye West said in a viral tweet on Friday, February 7.

To prove his point, the rapper posted a screenshot that explained the plan for promoting a “fake ye currency.”

The plan stated that West would get $750,000 upfront to advertise the crypto for 8 hours. After that time, he could claim his account was hacked and that he never made the post.

This would be followed by a $1.25 million payout 16 hours later.
