A dramatic moment was captured today, May 29, at a handover ceremony in Kano state, as the new Governor of the North-West state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, refused to sit on a seat formerly occupied by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
A security worker moved forward a seat reserved for Kano state governor as they were taken into the location of the handover event.
Abba Yusuf, on the other hand, refused to take the seat occupied by his predecessor, Ganduje, and instead chose another at the venue.
At the handover ceremony held today, the new Governor of Kano state vowed to probe the N241 billion inherited from the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. He also criticized his predecessor for “departing from established democratic” practice by jetting out of the state and not personally handing over the state government to him.
