Immigration New Zealand has announced modifications to its visa processing system for applicants, including shorter turnaround times.
These changes are intended to make the process easier for people applying to live, work, or study in New Zealand.
According to Immigration New Zealand (INZ), the median processing time for visa applications has decreased, acceptance rates for both resident and temporary visas have increased, and overall customer satisfaction is improving.
Faster visa processing times
INZ claimed that the median visa processing time has been lowered from 14 working days in 2022/23 to just 9 working days in 2024/25.
The examination of temporary visa applications has grown more efficient, with INZ now processing 96% of applications securely and effectively, up from 88% previously.
This ensures that all visa applications are processed with more accuracy and lower risk.
Improved client satisfaction
Customer satisfaction has increased as a result of these modifications. In 2023/24, 78% of applicants reported a pleasant experience with their visa application procedure, up from 74% the previous year.
This rise in satisfaction demonstrates the effectiveness of INZ’s efforts to improve service quality and shorten wait times.
How this affects new applicants
These modifications make applying for a work visa, student visa, or residency more efficient and reliable. Reports indicate that applicants can expect speedier decision timelines, greater certainty, and more accurate visa approvals.
The increased customer satisfaction indicates that INZ’s changes are satisfying the needs of visa applicants.
Now is the time to apply!
People are encouraged to submit their visa applications as soon as possible because it leads to speedier processing times, higher acceptance rates, and guaranteed customer satisfaction.
Improvements in processing efficiency mean that applicants will wait less and have more faith in the visa acceptance system.
