Newcastle Supporter Attacked in Milan Ahead of the Anticipated Champions League Game

Prior to AC Milan and Newcastle United’s Champions League match in Milan, hooded assailants stabbed a Newcastle United supporter, according to Italian police.

The unidentified British man, who was attacked on Monday and was with a friend, did not sustain injuries that were life-threatening, a police source said.

A bunch of hooded individuals approached the 58-year-old man. His back and arm were hurt. He was brought to a hospital in Milan, where he will soon be able to leave, according to the source.

The attack may or may not have been related to the game, according to a police investigation.

Newcastle stated that they were “deeply concerned” and “liaising with local authorities to understand the circumstances.”

“We wish the supporter and their family a full and quick recovery. “

Tuesday’s Champions League group stage match features Newcastle and Italian club AC Milan.
