Nicolas Anelka has played for some of the most recognisable names in European football management over the last 25 years, but two stand out as his best managers- Arsene Wenger and Sam Allardyce.
Former Chelsea star, Nicolas Anelka, says Chelsea have a ‘great chance’ of becoming champions of England considering their latest signings.
The London club coached by former captain, Frank Lampard had an impressive summer as new signings; Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz have arrived at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool and Manchester City last season took first and second positions respectively due to the quality of their squads. However, Anelka believes that the Blues have a chance of lifting the trophy for the first time since the 2016/17 campaign.
“I think they have a great chance to win the title. It depends on what Liverpool and Manchester City do as well,” Anelka told Stadium Astro, via the Metro.
“But he’s got the quality to finish fourth in the league last season and, with the signings, he’s got the quality to win it.
“It depends after in terms of the experience of the players whether they are strong enough to race until the end but the quality is in Chelsea as well.
“So, I believe first, second or third. We will see a great Chelsea at the end.”
