Niger coup Leaders cut off  water and electricity to the French embassy in the country

The French Embassy in Niamey no longer receives electricity or water, according to military leaders in the Niger Republic.

Additionally, no food is entering, reports Turkish news outlet Anadolu.

Similar activities are taking place at French consulates in other cities, such as Zinder and Dosso.

Head of a national support committee Elh Issa Hassoumi Boureima has requested that partners of French bases in Niger stop supplying food, water, and electricity.

According to reports, he reportedly said, “We ask Nigelec and SPEN (SEEN)) to turn off the water and electricity at the French Embassy and the French consulates in Zinder and Niamey.

The military coup leaders in Niger have additionally warned that assisting France with supplies will turn you into an “enemy of the sovereign people.”.

The leaders of the coup made their decision after the French ambassador’s 48-hour deadline to leave Niger expired on Sunday.

Since the July 26 coup, relations between Niger, some Western nations, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have been tense.

On Friday evening, France said it did not recognize the military’s authority and declined to carry out the order against its ambassador.

Niger fell into chaos after the July 26 coup when Gen. President Mohamed Bazoum was ousted by Abdourahamane Tchiani.
