Nigeria Records 1,145 New COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,145 new COVID-19 cases across in 23 states on December 17, 2020.

Nigeria’s government first confirmed COVID-19 new cases from February 27, 2020. However there has been an increase on the number of cases in Nigeria.

According to the data released by the NCDC, Lagos was on top of the list with over 459 new positive samples, followed by FCT with 175, and Kaduna with 138.The country’s total number of confirmed cases has now exceeded 76,000.The task force while speaking at their Thursday briefing, said that the country is experiencing second wave of the virus.

One person was confirmed to have died of coronavirus complications on Thursday, increasing the fatality toll to 1,201.

However, 335 people were discharged on Thursday, increasing the current total recovery count to 67,110.

While bringing the total number of 76,207 cases here but had been confirmed across 36 states and the FCT.
