American rapper Nicki Minaj recently disclosed in a tweet that her journey will not conclude in Nigeria. This statement follows her comments on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), where she expressed her views regarding the National Football League’s decision to feature Kendrick Lamar as the headline performer for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.
Minaj argued that, given Lil Wayne’s significance to New Orleans and his influence on the hip-hop genre, he would have been the ideal choice for this prestigious event, considering he is the head of Young Money Records and her mentor.
In reaction to some dissenting opinions, Minaj delivered a passionate response that resonated with a Nigerian sentiment. She humorously remarked that “Nigeria won’t kill her,” while referencing the well-known phrase from Ayra Starr’s song ‘Comma’: “Sabi Girl no dey too like talk,” showcasing her connection to her Nigerian roots.
“LMFAOOOO. Nigeria will not end me o! Sabi girl no Dey too like talk My words take the express elevator to the most high chi. I will show them pepper,” the post reads.
