The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa said the Nigerian Armed Forces remain committed to resolving the nation’s security issues
Musa stated this during a condolence visit to the Emir of Zazau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, on Friday evening in Zaria, Kaduna State.
He requested prayers for the military’s success and promised that the nation’s security issues would soon be a thing of the past.
Eight worshipers died in a mosque collapse, and Musa expressed his sorrow over their deaths along with a few senior military officials.
The CDS expressed the condolences of the armed forces and prayed for the souls of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
“I am in Kaduna for the Passing-out parade at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, but I felt I should take time out to pay you this condolence visit,” he said.
“As a father to me and the entire north, I rely on your help and prayers for the success of all of our operations.
“To God be the glory,” said the Chief of Defense Staff, “I have been here several times. I have been in here in Zaria as the Commandant, Nigerian Army Depot.”
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Aug a section of the 150-year-old Zaria Central Mosque collapsed during a congregational prayer service, resulting in the deaths of 11, eight worshipers, and 25 additional injuries.
Bamalli replied, thanking President Bola Tinubu for finding Gen., and expressing his appreciation for the visit. Musa is deserving of the position.
Bamalli pointed out that even though the appointment was made solely on the basis of merit, Mr. President still deserves praise from the entire Kaduna State population for selecting a capable military officer from the state to fill such a role.
He expressed optimism that the current administration would deal with security issues in some areas of the nation.
The council and the state’s residents, according to the royal father, would keep praying for the success of the CDS and the administration.
