A shocking video has surfaced showing the moment 40-year-old Nigerian boxer Segun ‘Success’ Olanrewaju collapsed and died during a boxing match in Ghana.

Olanrewaju, a former National and West African light-heavyweight champion, was up against John Mbanugu, also known as “Power,” in an undercard fight of Ghana’s Professional Boxing League at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

During the match, he suddenly fell to the canvas, prompting the referee to call for immediate medical assistance.

Despite the quick response from medical staff, Olanrewaju was pronounced dead, with reports suggesting he may have experienced cardiac arrest.

A video shared on social media shows both fighters exchanging blows before Olanrewaju collapsed with just 15 seconds remaining in the third round of the scheduled eight-round bout. The boxing world is now mourning his sudden passing.

His last fight occurred on December 24, 2024, where he lost to Idowu Raheed at the Campos Mini Stadium in Lagos.
