The winner of The Voice Lithuania’s 10th season is Anyanya Udongwo, a contestant from Nigeria.
Udungwo was named the winner of the main prize of 15,000 EUR and a publishing deal with Universal Music Group on April 30, 2023, according to The Voice Lithuania.
He defeated the other nine competitors at the Zalgirio Arena in Kaunas to win the coveted championship, and the competition attracted a record-breaking number of spectators.
Born and reared in Nigeria, Udongwo relocated to Lithuania from Ukraine when the war began.
Giving his acceptance speech, the medical doctor said;
“I am extremely grateful to the Lithuanians for their support and for how warmly they welcomed me.
I’ll admit, your support moved not only me, but also my family, who were hesitant about how I would be received in a foreign country.
Your support touched not only me, but also my family, who were hesitant about how I would be received in a foreign country”.
He lived in Ukraine for about 12 years where he studied medicine. Udongwo said singing was only a hobby – he sang in church, later in various projects- but after graduating, he realized that his true calling was music.
Voice of Lithuana Chief producer Gediminas Jaunius speaking on the success of the 10th season, said there was adequate preparation.
He said; “We are thrilled with the success of the 10th anniversary season of The Voice Lithuania. It is an honour to provide a platform for talented artists to showcase their skills. Together with consulting producer, ITV Studios senior vice president Mr. Huub Van Ballegooy, we created a custom made breakdown for the jubilee season of eighteen episodes which included ‘The cut’ after the blind auditions, freshly updated knockouts with the ranking chairs and the cross-battles which served as two semi-finals which worked excellently for this season.
We are already vigorously working on the second season of ‘The Voice Generations’ and looking forward to see what the future holds for The Voice Lithuania.”
