Nigerian artist Kunle Ogunrombi, widely recognized as K-Peace and a former champion of the renowned music talent competition Nigerian Idol, has asserted that he has not yet received his prize money, a decade following his triumph.
K-Peace was declared the winner of the Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idol Season 5 in 2015.
In a recent interview on the latest episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast hosted by Nedu Wazobia, K-Peace stated that, despite the passage of ten years since his victory, he has still not received the N7.5 million prize money.
He said:
“I came outside of the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account.”
“As Nigerian Idol winner, I go waka all through Lagos, go for interviews without food for belle despite winning N7.5 million.
“They announced that I had won N7.5 million. When I asked about the prize, they said they are still branding the car. What they announced on national TV be say I won N7.5 million with a brand new car and I’m supposed to have a two-week trip to Dubai. I go through hell after winning the show.”
In other news, Afro beats artist Adekunle Gold revealed that he used to fear losing those close to him.
He shared this in a tweet on his X page on Wednesday.
He mentioned that this fear went away when he learned to find security within himself.
He stated that changing his thinking from a scarcity mindset to one of abundance helped him see that life is full of chances
He encouraged people online not to fear growth because positive things are coming their way.
He wrote, “I used to fear losing people, but I discovered the power of finding security within myself. I shifted my mindset from scarcity to abundance, realizing there’s no such thing as ‘only.’
Life is vast and full of possibilities.
There are always more people to meet, more connections to forge, more lessons to learn, and more happiness waiting on the other side of growth.
