Efe Tommy, a prominent Nigerian lifestyle influencer, has disclosed that he successfully underwent a kidney transplant after enduring kidney failure for more than a year.

In an Instagram post, Tommy shared his initial disbelief upon receiving his diagnosis in February 2023, emphasizing the importance of his faith, family, and friends during this challenging time.

He maintained a positive attitude and continued to participate in work and social activities while keeping his struggles largely private.

“February 16, 2023, my life flashed before my eyes when I found out both my kidneys were failing,” he wrote.

“It was a fact I instantly refused to accept. But my believe and trust in God saw me through the journey with the help of my sister who is my rock and friends that supported me.”

The influencer announced that he underwent a successful transplant a month ago and expressed his gratitude for this “new lease of life.”

Additionally, he revealed the establishment of his foundation, which aims to raise awareness about kidney health and provide support to those affected by kidney disease.

“Today makes it one month post kidney transplant surgery and I am doing very fine,” he added.

“So filled with gratitude, thanksgiving and joy because God gave me a new lease of life which led me to launch my foundation which will be spreading awareness on kidney and doing my bit of humanity for those suffering from kidney disease.

“I hope this inspires someone out there to go check their kidney function today ✌🏾I AM FREE!!!

This announcement coincides with the recovery of ThankGod ‘TG’ Omori Jesam, a Nigerian music video director, following a failed kidney transplant.

Tommy is a well-known figure in the nightlife industry, co-founding Tommy Briggs Lifestyle and founding The Funky Brunch, a popular music and lifestyle event.
