A Nigerian woman has publicly addressed the Nigerian police, sharing her father’s unfortunate experience after serving as an officer for 25 years. According to her, her father, a retired policeman, suffered a stroke and was given only ₦10,000 in assistance.
She shared her story as part of the viral “rant challenge” trending on social media, expressing her disappointment in the treatment of officers after years of dedicated service.
The woman also voiced concerns that authorities might deploy police and military personnel to suppress public outcries. Reflecting on her father’s ordeal, she criticized the lack of support for officers who dedicate their lives to serving the nation, only to be abandoned in their time of need.
Her words in part:
“My dad served this country for 25 years. Currently, he is sick; he is down with stroke, and brain damage. Guess what, the police department donated N10K to my dad. He has been down for one year. This illness has made us sell properties.”
