"Is it a boarding school" - Nigerian lady shares experience in hotel with timetable for water

A woman named Amaka has shared her experience on her X page regarding a hotel that implemented a schedule for water availability.

She recounted this incident occurring in Enugu during the Christmas season.

Amaka expressed her profound disappointment, as the hotel had received strong recommendations, particularly after she encountered similar issues during her previous visit to the city.

She remarked, “Imagine lodging in a hotel, and they’re giving you a timetable for water! Is it a boarding school?

Upon making inquiries, Amaka was promised that water would be accessible whenever she required it.

In her words, “I thought to myself, ‘This ‘when needed’ excuse again?’” So i asked “How will you know when I need water to turn it on?”

He replied, “Ehhh, you see, we have specific times—6 p.m. and in the morning—when we turn it on for everyone to use.”

“At that point, I almost burst out laughing. Was I back in boarding school or what?
I asked, “What if I need to use the toilet in the middle of the night or rush back during a break session at church to freshen up?”

The receptionist’s reply shocked her.

He said, “Ah, that’s why we provide buckets in the rooms for you to fetch and store water.”

Amaka added, “At this point, I couldn’t hold it anymore—I burst out laughing. I told the friend who brought me there, Abeg, I’m not cut out for this stress.”
