Man Grieves After Losing Pregnant Wife and Unborn Child Due to Hospital’s Refusal of Emergency A Nigerian man has been left devastated after tragically losing both his pregnant wife and their unborn child in a heart-wrenching incident that has drawn widespread attention online.
The tragedy unfolded when a hospital denied emergency care to the expectant mother, citing her inability to pay an upfront deposit of N500,000.
In a moving video that has since gone viral, the man is seen with his wife, who was in labor and still conscious, as they made their way to the hospital. Desperation filled his voice as he repeatedly called her name and encouraged her to stay strong for their children, desperately trying to keep her alert in the moments leading up to the hospital visit.
In his words, “My goodness, Kemi, look at me. Stay strong, look at me. Think about your kids, please. You need to be very strong for me.”
Despite the man’s efforts to keep his wife conscious, she appeared too weak to continue.
According to the caption accompanying the video, the couple had initially sought treatment at another hospital, but they were turned away due to their inability to pay the required deposit. Desperate, they were referred to a second hospital. However, despite their best efforts to get the care needed, the woman sadly passed away, along with their unborn child.
The heartbreaking video ignited a wave of anger and sympathy across social media, with many users expressing their shock and frustration in the comment section.

@ihe69, “This is very painful. When I lost my wife in 2020, money was available, but it was time to go, in accordance with the will of God. People die even in the world best hospital. If it wasn’t the will of God, she would’ve survived one way of the order. May her soul rest in peace.”
@enejih7, “What is going on in this country??? What ?? A pregnant woman?? Mhen !!! This is bad.”
@LightUp_9ja, “This stupid nonsensical act Dat when u bring in a patient who darely need URGENT medical atention, instead of treating & providing first aid to D pregnant woman, they demanding money first. D hospital that denied that innocent woman should b investigated & justice must prevail.”

@Anitadiamond, “What is seriously wrong with Nigeria hospital, you should treat first before asking for money, this is why other countries are better than Nigeria they will never tell you to bring money first, especially here in america and if you refuse to treat them before paying and something bad happened the family will sue the hospital even homeless people gets free health care.”
@patphrase, “So sad 😢very sorry sir. This are one of the privileged we enjoy abroad. Nobody should go through this kind of pain 🙄.”
