A Nigerian man, Umar Auwal Umar, passed away just hours following his wedding fatiha in Kontagora, Niger State.
Umar and his spouse, Hauwa, were united in marriage on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Umar, who was employed at the First Bank branch in Kontagora, died in the early hours of Saturday, October 26, under circumstances that have not been disclosed.
A friend and colleague of the late Umar, Nafiu Yakubu, expressed his sorrow on Facebook.
“Tribute to My Late Friend/colleague Umar Auwal Umar. It is with great sadness that I pay tribute to My late friend/colleague who lost his life in the early hours of Saturday 26th October 2024. I was shocked by the devastating news of his death that very morning,” he wrote.
A great person had left us and although he is no longer with us, we will keep his memory in our hearts. “A great soul never dies, We can never forget such a wonderful friend/colleague.
“The many telephone calls and the expressions of sympathy, sorrow, comfort, the prayers made to the family on social media is a testament to how important he was in our lives.”
Hazel Gaynor said “To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die.” Thomas Campbell puts it this way “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
His loss is felt deeply, more than words can ever describe. May your gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace in Jannat al-Firdaus, Aameen Ya Rabb.
