Nigerian man shares how he lost ₦1.2 million shop & 15 industrial machines to gambling

A Nigerian individual has recounted his distressing experience of losing his shop, valued at ₦1.2 million, along with 15 industrial machines, as a result of gambling.

In a widely shared post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the man openly discussed his challenges, acknowledging that gambling has led him to the lowest point in his life.

Although he is a committed Muslim who recognizes that gambling is prohibited in Islam, he admitted that he has been unable to overcome this addiction. He highlighted that while he refrains from smoking, drinking, or engaging in promiscuous behavior, his gambling habit has resulted in significant losses.

In his words: “I’m a Muslim, and I know the Quran very well. The Quran doesn’t support gambling—it’s bad, it’s wrong. But the only thing I do for myself is gamble.”

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t womanize, but I gamble. I can bet my life on gambling.”

“I had a shop worth ₦1.2 million in Garki, but gambling took it from me.”

“I had 15 machines; we were doing well. But when the money came, we went straight to Bet9ja.”

As his narrative gained attention online, numerous social media users inundated the comment section with their reactions, sharing their concerns and viewpoints.
