The Nigeria Police have announced that social media influencer and blogger Martins Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, is scheduled to appear in court to face charges of impersonation.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command will oversee the prosecution, which is set for today, Friday.

In a statement released on its X account, the Police emphasized their dedication to maintaining the integrity of their symbols and preventing any misuse.

“In light of recent events, VDM, whose actual name is Mr. Martins Otse, will appear in court today due to allegations of impersonation linked to the unauthorized use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video.

“The FCT Police Command is actively handling the case, underscoring the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse. Interested persons are encouraged to follow up on the proceedings as the case unfolds,” the statement read.

In other news, Nigerian entrepreneur Isaac Fayose has conveyed his commitment to support the well-known crossdresser Bobrisky following their recent meeting at the airport. During this encounter, Bobrisky was allegedly removed from a KLM flight and subsequently detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fayose, who is the sibling of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, declared his intention to draft a letter to the International Court of Justice advocating for Bobrisky.

Prior to this, Fayose had posted a photograph of himself alongside Bobrisky at the airport, shortly before the crossdresser’s reported detention. Fayose’s comments come in the wake of significant public reaction to the arrest, with many expressing concerns regarding the reasons behind Bobrisky’s removal from the flight and the ensuing actions taken by EFCC officials.
