According to sources online, this Nigerian youtuber named Emdee Tiamiyu provided the BBC a recent interview that caused the UK government to prevent Nigerian students from bringing their family over to the UK after they gained admission to a UK institution, excluding PhD.

Remember that the UK government declared on Tuesday, May 23 2023, that Nigerians and other international students will no longer be permitted to travel with family members/dependents while pursuing a Masters degree program.
To avoid visa system abuse, the UK will also abolish the ability for overseas students to switch out of the student route and into employment routes before their studies are done under the new rule, which will take effect in January 2024.
Emdee Tiamiyu who spoke to the BBC backed the ban while claiming that most Nigerians migrating to the UK use schooling as a ploy to gain entry into the country.
He said;
“So, the student thing is not real. It is not like they need the degrees.
“They need the degree as an access road to come into the country, so a lot of these people their priorities shifted real fast.”
