President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the rising cost of food has been effectively managed, leading to a decline in hunger across the country.
He made these remarks on Sunday when the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, led a delegation to the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a Sallah visit.
Tinubu attributed recent improvements to policy adjustments, particularly the removal of the FCT from the Treasury Single Account (TSA). According to him, this decision has accelerated progress in key sectors.
“I focused on revitalizing rural areas. The previously abandoned residence of the Vice President has been restored. Health centers are being rehabilitated, and medical facilities in the FCT are receiving upgrades. Schools are also benefiting, with renovations and better furnishings. Thank you, Wike,” Tinubu stated.
He further emphasized that security conditions had improved and economic activities were regaining stability.
“Today, we are experiencing greater peace, and security is strengthening. There is growing satisfaction with our progress. The cost of food is decreasing, and hunger is reducing. People can now go to the market and conduct business more easily,” he added.
Tinubu’s comments come at a time when Nigerians continue to face economic difficulties, including inflation and the high cost of living—challenges that remain a priority for his administration.
