Grammy award winning Burna Boy, has appeared on ‘The Daily Show’ with Trevor Noah yet again. This time around, he discussed the authoritarian attitude of Nigerians, his forthcoming studio album, amongst other things.
The ‘Odogwu’ crooner wowed Trevor Noah when he owned all the accolades given to him. Instantly, Burna Boy stole the spotlight right from when he was introduced by the host.
Burna Boy was the first Nigerian to sell out the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden of 20, 789 capacity, in New York City.
Not mincing words, Burna Boy questioned why people capitalize on it when he does something they perceive big instead of appreciating him and move on. Noah, who is an expert in his field, made it clear, softly, to Burna Boy why it is so.
Burna Boy also disclosed why Nigerians stand out among all African countries when it comes to telling the truth. He added that
“Nigerians don’t lie unless they want to scam you.”
Revealing when he will drop a new album, Burna Boy said;
“It’s going to come out on a day everyone celebrates for themselves when it’s their own day. It’s not what you do. It’s not everybody in the world that has a job, you know. But this, everybody, has it. Everybody has a day to celebrate.”
Burna Boy didn’t let his time pass on the show without throwing shade at the Nigerian government.
Noah complemented Nigerian musicians for their hard work, which others now emulate, but Burna Boy swiftly responded that no one is trying to emulate the Nigerian government.
The Nigerian superstar was the guest in the recent episode; however, he turned the scene around and took over the show like he had Trevor Noah as a guest.
