In a tweet posted on Thursday evening, Macron referred to Tinubu’s state visit as a “big honour for France,” highlighting the robust partnership and friendship shared between the two countries.

He stated, “Na big honour for France, dear President Bola Tinubu @officialABAT, to welcome you for dis state visit as one big partner and friend of today and tomorrow.”

Macron, who previously interned at the French Embassy in Nigeria, also reminisced about his ties to the country, stating, “It still brings me great joy to remember that I was a young intern at the French Embassy in Nigeria back then.”

The online community has reacted to this, with many praising the President for his efforts to culturally connect with Nigeria.

Additionally, some have advocated for the Pidgin language to be recognized as the official language of Nigeria.
