The Federal Road Safety Corps Public Enlightenment Officer in the state, Usaini Ibrahim, confirmed Nine persons dead in two separate motor accidents in Yobe State on the 15th July 2021.
According to Ibrahim, the first accident involved a Toyota hummer bus with registration number BAM 286XA.
The vehicle, belonging to the Borno State Transport Authority was conveying passengers from Jos to Maiduguri.
Three of the passengers died while others sustained different degrees of injury.
The second accident, on the other hand, involved a Toyota bus with registration number KJA 012 XA heading to Potiskum.
Six persons died on the spot.
Both accidents happened on Wednesday and the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital Potiskum.
The FRSC PRO faulted for the drivers for what he described as overspeeding and reckless driving.
