Enioluwa Adeoluwa, a popular social media influencer, has spoken out against the prevalence of fake consumer goods in markets and stores across the country.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) issued a warning after apprehending a group specializing in the production of counterfeit wines, soft drinks, and other consumables in Eziukwu Market, Aba, Abia State.
@Aimalohi6, a user on the X page, informed Nigerians about a specific soy sauce brand that has recently seen an increase in counterfeit products.
The tweet read in part, “New discovery there is AMOY, AMOYS, AMOI, AMQY, AMOY’c oyster sauce, sesame oil, and soy sauce brands in Nigeria. The original brand is AMOY without the s. Every other brand is fake, good stores are selling the fakes. No idea where to get the original”.
On Monday, the post received a lot of attention after a lot of people commented and shared pictures of counterfeit products they bought from supermarkets.
However, Enioluwa, a food blogger, took to his official social media to complain about consuming fake products, which most likely caused his constant stomach pain.
He wrote, “No wonder my stomach is always paining me. Me wey dey chop everything!😭”.
