Stanley Nwabali, the custodian for the Super Eagles and Chippa United FC, has expressed gratitude to everyone who helped Nigeria win.
Following Nigeria’s penalty shootout triumph, Nwabali—who was named man of the match against South Africa—refused to accept the accolades and instead gave the Super Eagles squad credit for the win.
Tuesday night, the goalie stopped two penalty kicks to win over South Africa.
He expressed his gratitude to his coaches, management, and fellow Nigerians throughout his address.
In his words: “I really appreciate millions of Nigerians supporting me, I wanted to make them happy. I saw give God the glory and honour. It has been a good team performance throughout this tournament. I really appreciate the management and coaches. These guys have really guided me a lot throughout this tournament, and I feel so happy.”
