The Nigerian movie industry has suffered yet another blow, following report of the death of veteran Actor, Ignis Ekwe.
A family member reportedly confirmed the death of Ignis Ekwe who was well known for his role in the popular Soap Opera “Éveryday People”. The Edo-born actor was a scriptwriter, and a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communications, Auchi Polytechnic, in Edo until his death.
Ignis Ekwe who also played iconic roles in “Cockcrow at Dawn’’, “Igodo”and other epic movies, reportedly died in Benin, after a brief illness.
Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, who is the late actor’s niece, wrote in an Instagram post;
Your little girls will miss you soooooooo much.
Nollywood loses a gem.
